Flows: 103 cfs

Water Temp: 38 @ 9a - 40 @ 1p

Water Clarity: Generally about 2'. Gin clear in the slower water.

Hatches: BWOs from about 11a to 2:30p

I started out watching Brian fish the Carp Hole. It was too cold for me - 23 fahrenheit - when we started. We didn't see any fish and Brian got no hits on his nymph rig.

We then moved into the #1 Tree Hole. Brian was in the downstream side of the hole and I was on the upstream side in the fast water leading into the hole. We were both fishing nymphing rigs. I had a #20 Desert Storm, followed by a #22 Red Rojo Midge and a #24 Mercury Flashback Black Beauty. Neither of us had any hits.

At about 9:30a to 10a - Brian moved up stream. I tied on a Black Egg Sucking Leach and fished it near the end of the hole - and on about the 4th cast hooked up and landed a nice 19" Cutbow.

After about an hour - I moved downstream trying the various weirs and runs on the way. And eventually ended up at Brian's Run. I caught an 18" and 15" RB - one on the Desert Storm and one on the Red Rojo Midge. Had another nice one on - and after his 2nd leap into the air - he broke free. It was a fun fight - but I wish I landed that one!

Broke for lunch at about 12:30p. After lunch we went in at the West Hole. Brian went downstream into the plunge holes - and I went upstream after some risers in the Blue Heron Run. I had a #22 Parachute Adams BWO followed by a #22 Sparkle Dun BWO. I some fun landing 17", 15", and 13" Rainbows. 2 hit the Parachute Adams and the other one hit the Sparkle Dun. Had a couple more on - but they quickly spit the hook.

They quit rising at about 3p - and I moved down stream into the #1 Plunge Hole. Quickly hooked up a large RB that fought like one I never had seen. Lots of what appeared to be head shakes and fast drives. He eventually broke off. I moved down into the run at the end of the hole and hooked up a ~15" RB. This one broke off too in the fast water. I probably horsed this one a bit - dang it!

At the same time, Brian moved into the #2 Plunge Hole and landed a nice 17" RB on a Red Beadhead Nymph.

19" Cutbow - took a Egg Sucking Leach

18" Rainbow - took a #20 Desert Storm

15" Rainbow - took a #22 Red Rojo Midge

Brian with a nice 17" Rainbow. Took a #20 Red Beadhead Nymph
